Your First Class at IKIGAI

We’re looking forward to welcoming you. Here’s everything you need to feel prepared, comfortable, and ready to enjoy your first visit.

Before You Arrive

Arrive Early

Please arrive 10 to 15 minutes before class. Late-comers cannot enter once class has started.

Check In

Follow the instructions below for your studio. Our team will guide you if needed.

Settle In

Mats and props are available. Wear comfortable clothes and take a few moments to arrive fully.

How to Arrive and Check In

Each IKIGAI location has a slightly different arrival flow. Please check the details for the studio where your class is booked.

Central

IKIGAI Central

7/F, On Lan Centre

Please note that late-comers cannot enter the class.

Kindly try to arrive at least 10 minutes earlier to avoid any inconvenience.

Check-in

The check-in will be on the iPad at the reception when you enter our studio on 7/F.

Facilities

We have lockers available to store your belongings in the corridor and inside the changing rooms. Filtered water and tea are available at the little pantry area in case you arrive a little earlier.

Causeway Bay

Art Piece Building, 3 Matheson Street

Please enter from Sharp East Street, G/F.

Please arrive at the G/F at least 10 minutes earlier. Late-comers cannot enter once class has started.

1/ Check-in

The check-in will be at the G/F reception of the Art Piece building.

You will be given a token that states which floor your class takes place on, and an access card if you need to access the changing rooms.

Once you have checked in, you will be sent up to IKIGAI’s practice rooms on 21/F, 22/F or 23/F.

2/ Changing Rooms

The Art Piece building provides changing rooms, showers, towels and lockers on 20/F.

If you do not have time to go to the changing rooms, we also have washrooms on 21/F, 22/F and 23/F.

You are allowed to bring your bag into the practice room, but please make sure your phone is turned off.

Before Your First Class

A few simple answers to help you feel prepared, confident, and relaxed before arriving at the studio.

Preparing For Class

What should I bring?

Just bring yourself in comfortable clothes.

Mats and props are provided at the studio. You are welcome to bring your own mat if you prefer.

We recommend bringing a water bottle. Filtered water is available.

What should I wear?

Wear something comfortable that allows you to move freely.

Yoga is practiced barefoot.

Do I need to be flexible?

Not at all. Flexibility develops over time. The practice is about awareness, not performance.

During Class

What if I am new to yoga?

You are absolutely welcome.

Take your time, move at your own pace, and rest whenever you need. Our teachers will guide you and offer options.

What if I feel unsure during the class?

That’s completely normal for a first visit.

You can always pause, rest, or follow a simpler variation. There is no pressure to keep up.

Can I bring my phone into the class?

Yes, but it must be turned off or on silent before entering the practice room.

This helps maintain a calm and uninterrupted environment for everyone.

Other

What if the weather is bad?

In case of Typhoon Signal No. 8 or Black Rainstorm, classes may be cancelled.
